STARDUST
device + samples
After a journey of many millions of years, obscure celestial bodies wandering through our solar system encounter the Earth's gravitational field.
As they come into our atmosphere, the matter fuses and disintegrates, expelling tiny metallic spheres in its wake. Appearing as a fine grey dust, these imperceptible particles settle on the ground, in our hair.
STARDUST revolves around a series of devices installed in rural and urban environments since 2014. Using a system of cables, filters and neodymium magnets, these mechanisms aim to recover the stardust - or micrometeorites - carried in sludge and rainwater.
