NEXUS VACUI
Through a principle of constant superposition, layer after layer of a single pattern, NEXUS VACUI stands at the crossroads of abstract drawing and performance.
"As a child, I spent hours repeating the same motif - my mother's handwritten signature - until I achieved a certain mastery of the gesture’s mechanics. The initial idea being to succeed in falsifying (at her request) documents in her name."
NEXUS VACUI includes a series of pictorial experiments based on the repetition of gesture as a meditative medium. Each drawing responds to a protocol that will be respected throughout the performance. In this way, the pictorial object becomes both the transcription and the sole testimony of this performative act experienced at night, in the intimacy of the studio.
